Amnesty International

This is a link to an article from Australia.
It is an interview with Gore Vidal the political commentator.
It is very interesting.
I hope many of you will have the patience to read it.

This is later.

I have problems again. My mother-in-law is not well in her mind after the shock of her husband's death. I may be too busy to come online much.
I am OK but probably busy.

I understand her. It is so hard.

A very, very interesting article and alas, a very perceptive one. My country is indeed in the grip of madness. I have given up completely on voting for anything but the most rudimentary local elections. All else is a rhetoric machine. America's march toward fascism is turning into a run. Even with a Democrat in the Whitehouse, the Republican monstrosity will continue to run the majority of the country. Religious manifest destiny and greed are twin evils devouring the soul of our land. I dread the future and I weep for the lives that will be lost because of this insanity.

I am terribly sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Loosing a life mate is a soul-shattering thing. I hope she can eventually find peace without suffering too much and I wish you strength to deal with this tragic circumstance.

Thank you for your reaction.
I find it is very sad that a great nation like yours should have come to this.

Humans are very fragile creatures.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Unfortunately, the USA, although a self-proclamed empire, aren't a world-republic yet. Us, conquered people, still have no say in how the empire is run. Do not take part in the debate. Do not take part in the choices. Do not take part in the vote. We can but watch helplessly what used to be a republic become a war machine, and pay for a policy we never condoned each time we buy oil. And, considering the rates at which the price of oil is rising, I'd say the war machine is about to get into gear again. Iran? Possible. The republic has become some sort of out of control hurricane, shattering everything in its way, and first of all its own democracy.

I ache for your mother in law's pain, I ache for your husband's. I worry about you, with so much weigth on your shoulders. Never forget to take care of yourself. I hope your daughter will be able to come and help you again.
Peace to you all.

Unfortunately I share your analysis.
We shall see.

Thank you for your sympathy. I am well. :)

Yes, we shall see. The most despairing conclusion possible. We are helpless bystanders in this drama - and the worst is that the American people seems to have become a disinterested bystander, when it is not a fervent adept, of what is happening and the ideology behind it.
So, we shall see.

Then, please keep on being well... :(

J'ai vu une peinture religieuse tout a l'heure... ........ Ils sont fous.
Ce n'est pas tout à fait comparable avec Ibrahim.

Huh? A religious painting by whom? And who is crazy - almost everyone, of course, but more specifically? :?
