Soothing and intriguing to the eye, at the same time. Was the original orange or red, then? Should I bet you edited it in Paint? There is SOME noise at the periphery, but since most of the 'action' is taking place at the core of the fractal, it does 't count all that much. The core itself is clear and intricate enough for the eye to lose itself in it, discovering new delights and details every time. Even if I am not a blue lover, I'd let myself be taken in by this one without resisting

So, golds turn blue as oranges and reds do.... interesting. Yes, etched forms is all about relief... And if as a negative the light colours become dark and vice versa, all the reliefs are reversed too... With, I suppose, a very different aspect from the one expected at the beginning. I guess it shpuld be taken into accoint when you choose to turn an etched forms into a negative... since you know what to expect, now...

Well it's just that some of the flames are clearer. I used to use a low resolution like 500 in the render box but recently I've done them higher. Since I don't want to sell large prints I didn't think it mattered if there were a lot of pixels or not.
Doen't really matter... and you can still increase reolution if you feel it does... Maybe start by increments, see what happens, at what level of definition the render suits you... (Who am I to give advice on Apo....?)

What Gamma setting do you usually use? Lowering the Gamma will reduce the noise, although it -can- cause other issues) I normally use around 2.0 - 2.5. The latest version of Apo tend to default to around 4.00.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

So gold colours.
The negative colours are not very effective with the etched forms because it changes what is highlighted in this script.
